Problem: Every year Bloomingdale’s would run the Give Pink Give More campaign to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. The microsite, however, was not built on a CMS platform, so each year it had to be custom built. This required lots of Dev work and manpower each year and therefor was a risk tp slow down the development and release.
Hypothesis: If I built out a CMS whereby the Marketing and Merchandize Team could easily enter in the information about Give Pink Get More for that year, add new images, new dates, new incentives, etc…then it would not require any additional development each year.
Solution: I worked closely with the Marketing and Merch Team to decide on what was needed and wanted. What did they want to appear every year that they were certain of? Is that images, copy, deals of the promotion? From here I worked with my UX and design team to wire out a CMS solution for GPGM (Give Pink Get More) and then worked with my Dev Team to release this product for my Marketing and Merch Teams.
Results: GPGM has become one of Bloomingdale’s most effective tool to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. Through this program they’ve managed to raise over $13 million dollars in 15 years. By creating this CMS solution it has saved a ton of time for not only our Marketing and Merch Teams but also for the Dev Team who only needed to do slight enhancements to the CMS over the years.
