Fox News Homepage Redesign

Website: https://www.foxnews.com/

Problem: The current Foxnews.com homepage is old. The look and feel is not up to date and just feels worn down. In addition to that, the backend of the site is built on an old version of Word Press which allows for very little customization and enhancements.

Hypothesis: If we create a new Foxnews.com homepage and essentially gave the site a “facelift” we could increase time spent, articles read, videos watched and ad revenue. We could also build it on a newer version of Word Press which allows for more customization for our Editorial Team to introduce new enhancements.

Solution: The project kicked off in March 2021. I worked very closely with the EVP and SVP of Fox News Digital, along with the head of Creative and began iterating on the designs. I worked on a competitive analysis to see what our competitors were doing such as CNN, MSNBC, NBC News, NY Times, LA Times, etc…and from there began coming up with ideas and features for the new site.

The Project: Once designs were approved by upper management and stakeholders in Editorial, I began writing epics and stories in JIRA and teamed up very closely with my Technical Requirements Manager (TRM), Developers, QA to ensure clarity and understanding of each feature and the requirements. I also worked with SEO and BI to ensure every element is tagged.

Platforms: The site went live on desktop, mobile web and App on February of 2022.

Highlights: I was fortunate to be able to present the designs and preview the site to dozens of executives and upper management.
