In the three years since joining Fox, I have contributed immensely to the growth of all the brands at Fox Digital.
In addition to dozens and dozens of enhancements that I delivered to Fox News, Fox Weather and Fox Business, I also have been able to showcase my Managerial skills along the way.
I was trusted to take the lead in organizing the Daily Product Standup, Bi-Weekly Product Sprint Planning Priority, Weekly Editorial Collaboration Meetings for both Mondays and Wednesdays, Product Digital Innovation Roundtable, Weekly Product Sync Meetings and AB Testing Meetings. Each of these meetings involved me running, leading and organizing these meetings with various parts of the organization from Product to Project, Design to Dev & QA, as well as Editorial, Management and Stakeholders.
I was the Product Lead when it comes to the monthly night releases and managed Editorial as well as Project to ensure that everything goes smoothly during the launch and if there are issues that we get them fixed and there is communication to Editorial. These often included late nights where I’d be up close to midnight but would still be at my desk at the following day at 9am sharp.
I am a great mentor and can teach any Product Manager how to deliver a product from concept to launch. From brainstorming and design, to creating tickets, prioritize planning, road mapping, as well as collaborating with stakeholders and senior management.
I have a great sense of humor and communication skills. I do not insult people. I don’t put people down. I focus on empowerment and positivity.
I believe running a team doesn’t just mean being tough and rough on your staff, but also understanding that each person is an individual, each one of them work in a certain way and it’s incumbent upon me to learn how they work so I can motivate them and make them successful, which in turn will help the company as a whole.
Three Year Summary at Fox:
I have delivered hundreds of enhancements to all the brands, including but not limited to the Fox News Homepage, Article Redesign, Navigation, Section Front and Category Redesign, as well as backend enhancements to the HP Tool, CMS and Layout Manager, and one-off enhancements which contributed to an overall improvement to the frontend user as well as Editor experience at Foxnews.com.
I worked closely with the Product Team, BI and Editorial to discuss A/B Tests and I launched 34 tests between April to June of 2023. I organized the meetings, met with the team, came up with ideas, wrote the tickets, worked with the Taplytics tool, worked with the Developer to launch and then with BI to review the results of every single experiment. Not to mention assisted in putting together decks for management to review the results of the A/B Tests.
I was the Product Lead on everything related to Homepage Redesign and Article Redesign for both Foxnews.com and Foxweather.com. Each project I created a Confluence page and listed out all the different Epics we would need to do to complete each product. I then met with Project Management, Dev and QA to organize each ticket and launch in priority order to get them out the door and on time.
For large scale projects (such as Homepage Redesign and Article Redesign) I collaborated with the SVP, VP, Director of Product and Director of UI/UX. I helped ideate on the designs, then I created Epics for each single enhancement, and I worked with the TRM, Project and Dev Teams for High Level Scoping to get them out the door and completed. The Foxnews.com homepage has been completely transformed.
I was the Product Lead on Section Front/Category Redesign and met with dozens of stakeholders to understand what they’d like to see improved on those pages. From there I compiled the positive and negative feedback and broke out all the different enhancements that we could do for Section Fronts/Category Pages. I then put together a Confluence page listing out all the Epics for the enhancements we could begin on to make the experience better. I wrote Epics and got them lined up to start reviewing in HLS.
I have taken the time to learn how the different systems at Fox work from the HP Tool, Layout Manager and CMS.
Due to this I have become a SME that co-workers and stakeholders can come to and ask me questions about how the tools work or what solutions I can offer to make the experience better for Edit or our users.
During these past three years, I have demonstrated that I can be trusted to deliver high quality products, be courteous and professional with my fellow coworkers, and show that I am great to work with. I am always on time. I am very dependable.
